Today, I'm at Sheri Fredrick's blog sharing the real-life story of a woman who decided life would be more interesting as a man than a woman in the Victorian age. Her name was James Barry and she spent 44 years in the Queen's army, rising to the highest ranked doctor. When they discovered on her death she was a woman, they buried her as James Barry and kept her true gender a secret for over 100 years.
