Rebecca has just turned thirty. She’s happy living a perfectly comfortable and predictable life. She’s even ready to marry her long-time boyfriend whenever he finally gets around to asking her. But all that changes when her best friend whisks her away to Italy for a much-needed vacation.
In the midst of site seeing and finally letting loose, Rebecca manages to catch the eye of a young English tourist; but doesn’t let it go to her head. By the time she’s back in the States and back in the arms of her long-time beau, Rebecca has already forgotten about Peter, Paten, Paul…whatever his name was, that is until he shows up at her brother’s cabin in the woods.
A life of normalcy, routine, and stability gets turned upside down as Rebecca decides whether or not she’s truly ready to get married. And if so, who is the one she’s really meant to be with?
The book
kept me reading even when the relationships became a train wreck about to
happen. When the heroine is in love with two guys and must choose, and you aren’t
sure she’ll pick the one you want, what do you do?
If I stop
reading, then I’ll wonder forever if I had guessed right. So I read on, but
since I don’t want either guy to be hurt, there is no possibility for a
satisfied ending.
I’ll give
the author an A+ for reality. In real life you could unquestionably end up in
this tangle. In an erotica book, it would probably end in a three-way. But this
isn’t close to being erotica. It’s a simply told story about a flawed but charming young woman who ponders whether she is in love with the idea of being
loved, or truly in love with the fellow. Then she meets a new guy and the
fireworks are brighter, but is that ‘love’ or new relationship excitement?
I have to be
honest, I’m not sure she made the right choice, but knowing this will be a
series, I expect the rejected fellow eventually will find his ‘real true love’
as well and that softens my disappointment.
For the
bravery of the author to write about reality with all its complications, I give
this 4 stars.

Which cover do you like?
Glorie Townson is more than just a pen name for the author, Toi Thomas; she's an entirely different personality. Glorie is the softer side of Toi, who puts down her comic books and picks up a volume of Robert Frost poems. Like Toi, Glorie is happily married to her wonderfully supportive husband, and together they share a home with their pet turtle, Betty. This is Glorie's first publication, but she's already feeling the inspiration to pen another tale, to which she'll gladly share with the world.

Thank you, Liza for hosting my new book on your blog today.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a very realistic book. I can only imagine her quandary! I hope she chooses who is best for her and she falls in love and stays in love with him!
ReplyDeleteAs Liza says, the book is realistic. She's unsure about the ending, but there are sequels to come.
